Deep Vein Thrombosis

Abstract
Deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremity dose not represent a single pathologic entity with a clear therapeutic scheme but involves a spectrum of diseases and sequelae, each with separate therapeutic implications.
Identification of the specific cause for a venous thrombosis such as typhoid fever and chronic pulmonary diseases may be very rare.
We experienced two cases of deep vein thrombosis of specific causes, who had history of typhoid fever and pulmonary tuberculosis. The thrombosis, involved their left leg, and the patients present with severe swelling of affected limb. They underwent thrombectomy with Fogarty catheter, leg elevation under absolute bed rest, and anticoagulant therapy.
We report two cases of deep vein thrombosis with a brief review of literatures.
